If you’ve been following me a while, you’ve probably noticed that I’m a big fan of color. Dresses, tops, workout gear… I’ve got it all. Well, not all, because I was missing one pretty awesome closet staple.
The Red Pump.
I honestly don’t know how it took me almost 30 years to add these shoes to my wardrobe. I already knew I loved getting dressed up, but adding these to an outfit is like an instant confidence boost. They’re sleek and classic, but they still add a little sass. Needless to say, I’m obsessed. You’re gonna see a lot more of these bad boys around here ?
The rest of my outfit was kind of a mistake, actually. This top has a really cute ruffle hem that I wanted to show off… but every pair of jeans I owned didn’t look quite right with it. I looked back at Banana Republic‘s campaign that says “What moves you?” – and honestly, I think subconsciously I was just in the mood for something a little more fun. So, instead of fighting with typical jeans… I followed what was “moving” me! I tucked it into a skirt, threw the earrings on, and all of a sudden, I felt more like me. It’s funny how outfits can do that, isn’t it?
As much as I love getting dolled up, I tend to keep it simple with jewelry. I really don’t wear a lot of statement pieces, and I tend to stick to my stud earrings especially. I don’t really like thinking about what’s on my ears, but these Kendra Scott beauties are an exception. Even though they’re pretty big, they’re not too heavy; and they can add a TON of glam to any outfit. Add the red pumps and there’s no stopping you!
Do you guys own a pair of red shoes? Am I behind the times?? I’d love to know!
