SAG Awards: Best Dressed
Who watched the SAG Awards on Sunday?! I was tweeting up a storm about everything from the red carpet to the acceptance speeches. I love the SAG Awards, mostly because I love hearing established actors tell the story of how they got their SAG card. Most actors have been at it for a long time, and I think people forget that. And again, a night celebrating actors, television, movies, and fashion? Sign me up. Now let’s go through the trends, shall we?!
Embellished Dresses
When I saw Julianne Moore in this Chanel dress, I hated it. And then I looked at it more and I loved it. And then I realized that this back and forth is because I love the dress, I love her, and I love her hair- but I’m not sure I love it all together. I had to keep her on this list though, mostly because I think the dress would look awesome on someone younger and tanner.. cough (me, maybe?) cough. And then we’ve got Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka in Oscar de la Renta. This 13 year old is already a master of the red carpet. Perfect wavy locks, youthful pink lipstick, a classy and age appropriate dress… Gorgeous!! A lot of stars could take some hints from this youngster.

Funny Ladies in Black
The funniest ladies in television all showed up in black?! What?! Luckily, I don’t mind, because they all look great!! Tina’s waist looks teeny tiny in this super flattering Oscar de la Renta gown. The hair and makeup is gorgeous, too. I have nothing bad to say about this look. And then there is Amy Poehler in Zuhair Mrad! Amy never wears structured dresses, and I am so glad she finally did because her body looks amazing! That brings us to Julie Bowen. All I can say is hot mama! Nice work, ladies!

Navy Beauties
There was a lot of navy on the red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence looked classic in Dior Haute Couture. Also, she was sick for this event. I wish I looked like that when I’m sick! Nicole Kidman’s Vivienne Westwood dress is interesting and beautiful, but I didn’t like the hair at all! A dress like that needs more romantic styling! And then there’s Amanda Seyfried wearing an amazing Zac Posen dress. But why did she wear that necklace with it?! Even though she isn’t my favorite, I am willing to overlook that and the necklace, because this dress is really really gorgeous.

The biggest surprise of the night was Nina Dobrev. I don’t think anybody thought that The Vampire Diaries star would be a best dressed contender, but she is stunning in this bright pink Elie Saab gown. Who knew?!
Then there was Jessica Chastain channeling Jessica Rabbit in this gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown. Va va voom!
And last but not least, the always beautiful Naomi Watts. Her minimal makeup went perfectly with this Marchesa dress… especially the magenta lip. Effortless, classic, and gorgeous!
Who were your favorites?!

I think the girl from Vampire Diaries is the winner! With Naomi Watts at a close second!
