NYE: Put a straw in it (+ crostini and a playlist!)
New Year’s Eve is only a few days away, so I’m stepping in to quickly remind you that it’s not supposed to be stressful!! If you are stressed out, take a deep breath, maybe reassess your plans, grab some Segura Viudas Cava, and keep reading 😉
When you think about it, we put too much pressure on New Year’s Eve to be the BEST NIGHT EVER – when in reality, all any of us really want is to spend the night with our favorite people, some good food, fun music and a little lot of bubbly. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?
Let’s be honest, if NYE had a signature drink, it would definitely be a sparkling wine (Cava is my favorite!). Popping that bottle after counting down is pretty much a tradition – besides getting a kiss at midnight, of course 😉
But thanks to these mini bottles of Rosé cava from Segura Viudas USA, you can crack one open loooong before the clock strikes 12. Put a bunch of these out with cute straws for your guests to grab as soon as they enter the party. Adorable AND less dirty glasses to clean after they all leave!
Once everyone has a drink, they’re going to need some food. If you’re hosting, you have to put something out for your guests – but do you put out bowls of chips and call it a day? Do you serve a full blown dinner? Hmm… what about something in between?
Here’s my favorite easy appetizer:
Slice a baguette and toast in the oven.
Spread goat cheese and fig jam on each slice.
Melt some butter in a pan and light fry up some sage.
Drain the leaves on a paper towel, and place one on each crostini.
It looks fancy, but it couldn’t be easier. And they’re delicious paired with Segura Viudas Rosé!
Last but not least, New Year’s is way more fun with good music – and, no you don’t need to go to a bar for that! All you need is a killer playlist, hopefully with a mix of genres to accommodate all musical tastes. The pop lovers get their Beiber, the dancers get their Kygo, and the people who hate all modern music can still get their groove on to The Jackson 5. I mean, have you ever met anyone who doesn’t like ABC? Didn’t think so.
If you need some inspiration, you can listen to my New Year’s Eve Playlist on Spotify!
How are you guys ringing in the new year?!
