September Fitness Recap (+ FREE 2019 Workout Planner)
*outfit details in this post!
Happy Monday and almost October!! We had a great weekend over here – the rain felt like a sign to slow down a little bit. We still had a ton of fun at Chicago Gourmet on Saturday and I made chili for the Bears game with some friends yesterday, but that was about it! The rest of the time, I was either snuggling Luna or getting work done/trying to get organized. These next few months are about to get super busy work-wise, so the more rested and prepped I can be, the more I’ll be able to actually have fun during the holiday madness! Woo!
September Fitness Recap
September Goals
I really wanted to keep up my good groove, and I’m proud of how well I kept up considering I had two trips this month! If you count my short “runs” with Luna, my final tally is only a few less than last month. I’ll take it!
September Obstacles
I went to California for a press trip and then Adam and I went to Montreal for fun with some friends – and travel always messes with my routine!
# of workouts completed:
16 workouts!
Lincoln Square Athletic Club
I am now a Bodypump addict… I went 7 times this month! I’m enjoying it so much, my new goal is to incorporate it into my routine twice a week every week. I can already feel myself getting stronger after a few months of doing it sporadically, so I’m excited to see what happens when I’m a little bit more intentional about it!
I also tried a yoga class and a yoga sculpt class at LSAC this month. The yoga class wasn’t really my jam, but not because it was bad – it was just a little slow for me. I like a quick flow! I did, however, enjoy the yoga sculpt class! It’s similar to CPY’s Sculpt class, but less cardio bursts and no heat at all. I liked it!
Studio Three
I only got to Studio Three ONCE this month ?If you’ve read my fitness recaps for a while, you know this is kind of par for the course. It’s just harder to commit to the train ride down + class + the train ride back home when things are busy. Hey Studio Three, can your next location PLEASE be in Lincoln Square or Lakeview?! Pretty pretty please?!
PS. I have a code to get your first class at Studio Three for free, but they don’t want me to post it here. Just DM me on Instagram if you’d like it!
Club Pilates
I took a few of Rebecca’s classes again this month, and she’s just so great. Her Level 2, Flow 1.5 and Suspend 1.5 are all awesome classes. And just when you think it’s easy, she throws something in there that feels nearly impossible… which I love. The best part of taking classes is being challenged, right?!
Running
Ohhh running. Someone asked me for tips on how to run with your dog and I laughed a little because we are not the most graceful pair ? We don’t go very far, and I definitely have to stop to walk sometimes when she’s dragging behind or her attention is being drawn somewhere else. That being said, if I keep a tight leash and I’m patient with her, we’ve been able to go about 1.5 miles!! I’m not a runner, so that short distance is perfectly fine with me. We did that 3 times this month (plus one run by myself – she wasn’t invited that day), and I’m hoping to do that on a few more crisp mornings before it gets really cold out!
Balance & Flow Class
I co-hosted a yoga event with Equilibria this week and it. was. HEAVEN. Melissa from Zen Yoga Garage taught one of the best classes I’ve taken in a while – and she even incorporated Equilibria’s CBD Relief Cream towards the end of the class to help relax and restore the muscles we used. I left feeling so centered… and a little tingly! In a good way, don’t worry 😉
If you’ve never tried their relief cream, it’s incredible for sore muscles. Adam might love it even more than I do – he has me rub it on his back and knees all the time. I highly recommend adding it to your box if you make a CBD purchase with Equilibria. And don’t forget to use code LAKESHORELADY to get 15% off!

October Goals
I am taking two trips this month and everything is starting to ramp up for the holidays. Instead of letting other things become more important than exercise, I’m going to try to really stay committed to my routine. Even if the workout that day is a short run with Luna – at least I’ll get my heart rate up and stay in the active groove!
What are your goals for October?!
