Simple Wedding Dresses for Eloping
Did you have to postpone or change up your wedding? I found a bunch of simple wedding dresses for eloping!
Hey corona brides, how are you holding up? I hope you’ve found peace with COVID-19 wreaking havok on your special day. Whether you’re postponing your wedding, having a smaller wedding, eloping, or a combination, it’s important to figure out what is best for you. While Adam and I have decided to just wait until 2021 to tie the knot, we considered having a smaller ceremony with just family for a little bit – and one of my first thoughts while we were talking about it was, WHAT would I wear?! ?
Even though I ordered this dress for our rehearsal dinner, I realized that it’s also perfect for a city hall elopement or small ceremony. And then I started searching for other options – cute sundresses for a backyard BBQ, a princess midi for a celebration with immediate family, affordable gowns for glamorous elopement photos with your weddings photographer… there are so many amazing options! Scroll down for 8 of my favorite elopement dresses, followed by a TON of other options at a bunch of different price points. Whether you have a budget of $45 or $400, I’ll help you find the perfect elopement dress for you.

Simple Wedding Dresses for Eloping
For Love & Lemons Lace Dress
As I mentioned, I got this lace fitted dress for our rehearsal dinner, but it’s perfect for a small ceremony or city hall elopement, too. At $246, it’s not cheap – but I decided to try it during the Shopbop sale and I completely fell in love. The sleeves, cutout back, and delicate floral lace is even prettier in person. To be honest, I thought I would return it because it would be too long on my petite frame, but I actually love the fit. (I got a size small.)
Yumi Kim Maxi
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I looooove Yumi Kim – her dresses are the perfect mix of classic and fun, and she has a few beautiful maxis for brides! This wrap dress is really similar to an old favorite of mine, and I love it for elegant backyard ceremonies or beach elopements this summer. This ruffle neck dress and this off the shoulder dress would also be great, too. You can also get 30% off right now with code COZY30!
J.Crew Eyelet Dress
Of course, J.Crew has a classic eyelet option for the preppy gals out there! It can be harder to find casual wedding dresses, but I love that you could wear it again on your anniversary every single year! That one is $168, but I also love this long sleeved maxi for $148, especially if you’re getting married on a breezy night on the beach!
Asos Crop Top Wedding Mini (and gown!)
Have you ever thought about getting married in a crop top, but you decided it was too trendy? ELOPE IN IT! I love both this mini set and gown set so much – and both are under $200! If you prefer simple wedding dresses instead of a crop top, Asos has a ton of other options, too. I love this lace gown for $190, this sweet corset top gown for $174, and this open back beauty for $151!
Show Me Your Mumu Gown
Speaking of gowns, Show Me Your Mumu has a ton of great options, too! I personally love this super simple and sleek one for an intimate celebration, but this off the shoulder midi is a great option if you want more of a boho and free spirited vibe. Both would be beautiful for a destination wedding if can manage to get to a beach to elope!
BB Dakota Midi Dress
I honestly can’t believe that this BB Dakota dress is only $120 – it looks SO expensive to me! Also, if their website has your size, it’s currently on sale for just $95! WOO! Even though this one is a midi length, it is SO bridal, which makes it perfect for classy courthouse weddings.
Sezane Dress
If you are cutting your guest list and having a smaller wedding, your original dress might feel too extra – or you might want to save it for the big postponed reception. That being said, if you’re still walking down an aisle, it might be hard to find an elopement wedding dress that’s still special enough. Luckily, this $410 Sezane dress is so incredibly dreamy. Swooon!
L’Academie Midi Dress
Looking for princess vibes?! This $248 beauty fits the bill! I love that this style is really simple and classic, but the tea length full skirt adds really fun bridal drama. It may not be your original tulle skirt, but how pretty would this be with some fun heels and a classic red lip?!
Tips For Elopement Dress Shopping
In my opinion, this is definitely different than traditional wedding dress shopping. When it comes to shopping for an elopement dress, truly all that matters is that you feel GREAT in it. That’s it! The coronavirus already messed everything else up, so who cares about any outside expectations. It doesn’t matter what you “should” or “shouldn’t” wear. Pick something out that brings you joy!
While the dresses listed above are my personal favorite, I picked out a ton of others that cover all kinds of elopements and price points. I had so much fun browsing retailers to pick these out. I hope it’s helpful!
