Polka Dots and Tassel Sandals
Remember when I wrote all about how I want to really connect and talk about the real stuff with you guys in Friday’s post?! Well, we’re not going to do that today ? Today is all about the lighter things in life – like polka dots and comfy jeans and TASSEL SANDALS!
Before we dive into the outfit, let’s chat about this weekend though! As you might have seen on my insta-stories, my sister and I went to the Taylor Swift concert on Saturday. My brother-in-law got her tickets for Christmas, and I obviously said yes when she asked me to go with her! To be completely honest, I’ve never been a full blown “Swiftie” – but the girl puts on a SHOW. And I thought I only liked her 1989 album, but after this concert I haven’t been able to get the Reputation album out of my head. I think I might be a full blown fan now! Who am I?!
More than anything, it was so fun to get my sister out in the city! She is juggling 2 babies under 2 right now, so girl needed a glass of prosecco. ? We got one at La Storia where we had a lovely meal on their patio, before singing at the top of our lungs at the concert. Did you see my story where Taylor came to the stage right by our seats to sing Blank Space?! AHH!
And then it rained on our parade… haha it took us 45 minutes to walk from Solider Field to the Red Line because of the crowd. We both wore rain coats, but we still were SOAKED by the time we got back to my place. As my sister said, “Hey, we’re making memories!” So true, Jen!

Okay, now back to the outfit!
Aren’t these tassels shoes the CUTEST?! I know this probably isn’t a normal thing to say considering I’m a “fashion” blogger, but I really try not to buy too many shoes. I always end up wearing the same ones that I love over and over again and end up having shopping remorse over the super trendy purchases. But these… these were marked down to under $100 one day and I could just see myself wearing them all summer long.
First of all, the heel is really low which means I can walk all over the city in them. I also love that they can be worn with a super casual outfit, or as more of a statement. I debuted them on Cinco de Mayo with shorts and a colorful off-the-shoulder top, and I’ve worn them since with outfits like this one, too. That being said, who’s to say I can’t wear these bad boys with dresses and skirts, too?! A flirty little LBD + tassel sandals = the comfiest (and cutest!) night out!
And last but not least, I have to mention the cutie who took these photos! Eryn Shea is a Canadian photographer that found me on Instagram before coming to Chicago for a quick weekend. She reached out to me to ask if I wanted to get together and shoot, and I’m so glad she did! This is when the internet is so cool, you guys. We had been following each other on social media for a few weeks, so by the time we met in person, she felt like an old friend. She even joked about how she brought a similar top on the trip and loves Madewell jeans, too ?
Do any of you live in the Windsor or Toronto areas?! If you do, keep Eryn in mind for your photo needs! Super talented and as lovely as can be!
What’s your shoe philosophy?
Are you shoe-obsessed, or do you try to limit what you buy to practical purchases? And if you’re normally practical, do these tassels tempt you not to be? I’m obviously not judging – my willpower clearly lost in this case! ?
