Do you try to eat healthy… but still get cravings for French Fries? I mean, we’re only human, right?! Luckily, this at-home version of the beloved snack will remind you of curly fries, but without the guilt! Say hello to Spiralized French Fries!
I personally use The Inspiralizer, but there are a lot of other options out there, too. As long as it slices your potato into thin curly fries, then you’re all set! And no need for a frier, these curly cues will crisp right up in the oven.
And if you want a little extra kick, swap out the ketchup and serve these spiralized french fries with creamy sriracha dip. No one needs to know it’s full of protein from greek yogurt. I won’t tell if you don’t tell ?
I have to warn you though… this recipe isn’t the set it and forget it kind. Every oven distributes heat a little differently, so you really want to make sure your fries aren’t sticking or burning. There’s a chance they’ll crisp up faster than mine, or there’s a chance they’ll take a little longer. Just be patient!
I actually discovered that Inspiralized (the creator of my Inspiralizer) made a version of these after I made my version… and boy, could I have used her notes before I started recipe testing ? - 1 large russet potato (or 2 smaller ones)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chopped rosemary
- slat and papper
- olive oil or avocado oil spray
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 6 oz greek yogurt
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
- Peel the potato and use a spiralizer to create curly strings.
- Place in a bowl and add olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic power, and rosemary.
- Toss the potato noodles with your hands until ever strand is coated in oil and seasoning. Cut any that you think might be too long.
- Place them on a lined or nonstick baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, toss the fries to make sure nothing is sticking and the pieces aren't too crowded. Place in the oven for another 15 minutes.
- Mix the sriracha and greek yogurt together in a bowl. Keep in the fridge until you're ready to serve.
- Remove any browned fries from the tray and bake for another 3-5 minutes or until all of them are crispy.
