13 St. Patrick’s Day Recipes
I loooove Irish coffee. It’s cozy and warm and sweet and boozy… with a little kick, because why not?! I love this particular recipe because you can control how sweet and boozy you want it to be, instead of relying on a restaurant or bar to get it right. Sometimes they can be a little rich! Plus, this one uses maple syrup instead of sugar, which is such a nice touch. YUM!
When I was in Ireland, I kept noticing how CREAMY Guinness is there. It was something I’d never noticed when tasting it in the states, which is why it’s the perfect beer to pair with ice cream! We actually tried a version of this recipe at Chicago Gourmet this year and Adam and I almost went back for another one – that’s how good it was. So why not make them at home?! So easy. And SO delicious.
It doesn’t get much more traditional than soda bread, right?! I’ve actually never attempted to make this bread myself yet, but this recipe makes me want to! She makes it look so easy!
When I think of comfort food, I think of carbs – and the potato is Ireland’s favorite carb! This recipe is pretty basic, but it also encourages you to mix in your favorite additions if you’d like! Some options could be bacon, scallions, cream cheese, spinach, parmesan… the possibilities are endless!
What are your plans for St. Patrick’s Day this year?
Are you going downtown to watch the river turn green or are you staying away from the madness?! Also, I have a post all about what to wear to celebrate coming tomorrow – stay tuned!
