I took a String Art Class!
I’ve been to a few events at Macy’s over the past few months, but last week I got to take a string art class! I’ll admit, I’m normally not super crafty. I don’t do a ton of DIY projects at home, or knit, or paint, or… you get the picture ? But this was the perfect opportunity to get out and learn something new with some cool ladies.
The class was taught by Heather from Chicago Craft & DIY. She’s a mother of 3 who decided to share her love of crafting in an accessible way that makes it easy for everyone. She teaches public and private classes, and she also sells some of her creations on Etsy! So cool, right?
Want to know what else is cool? I MADE THIS CHICAGO FLAG! I know it’s not perfect by any means, but I’m still pretty proud!
Heather was a wonderful teacher, and I love that she really wants to create a wonderful and new experience for everyone. And if you make a cool craft at the end of it, that’s icing on the cake. So often we get stuck in a rut and only do what we’re comfortable with, but I love the idea of getting some friends together and doing something different!
Turns out nailing gets out a lot of aggression, too… a little bonus to this kind of DIY? Yup ?
A huge thank you to all of these ladies for coming and getting crafty with us!
And yes, my creation is now on display in my apartment… obviously ?
Have you ever taken a string art class?
