Sunday Spotlights 42
Happy Sunday, friends! I would say I missed you last week… but being out in nature instead of at my computer was literally exactly what I needed. I knew I was wound up, but I don’t think I truly realized how much it was affecting me until I felt the stress and anxiety of the past year just fall off my shoulders as we hiked. No work, no social media, no DMs, no emails… just us and the mountains. Such a gift that I will cherish.
That being said, we came back to a tough week – one that I know has been really hard for a lot of people. First, the video of Lt Caron Nazario made us hold our breath. Then the death of Daunte Wright took us back to last spring. And to top it off, body cam footage showed that 13 year old Adam Toledo did not have a gun in his hand when he was killed by a police officer. Not to mention the fact that the Derek Chauvin trail is happening right now.
If I feel frustrated and heartbroken by all of this, I can truly only imagine how my BIPOC friends and followers must be feeling. Please know that I am sending so much love your way right now. This is a lot. Please take care of yourselves as you grieve.

I have been feeling frustrated with some of the reactions to the pause of the J&J Vaccine.
And I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I was taking birth control pills for YEARS that posed a WAY higher risk and no one bats an eye at that. The risk of blood clots from birth control pills is 1 in 1,000 and that is considered low risk. The risk from the J&J vaccine is 1 and 1,000,000. Not to mention the risks associated with actually getting COVID.
This woman had to cancel her wedding reception due to the pandemic, so she wore her dress to get her vaccine. FULLY SUPPORT THIS.
We are starting to talk about our kitchen redesign and I’m loving the way they used quartz/granite instead of a backsplash in this kitchen and this kitchen. What do you guys think?
Okay I know this dress is a little bit of a splurge, but doesn’t it look like it was MADE for me?! The COLORS!
Love these food storage hacks from Maggie!
So I still don’t think bike shorts are very flattering, but this pair was a DREAM to hike in. Seriously, SO COMFORTABLE. Paired with this crop top? Hello my go-to casual outfit this summer!

This cropped tee is the perfect amount of cropped for high waisted jeans.
I swear by the products in this Moisture Bundle. If you haven’t gotten a pedicure in a while and wash your hands a lot, these are game changers – and such a steal!
Printfresh was super generous and sent me some of their lemon-print pajamas last week and I am in love! They also wanted to give you guys 15% off your orders with code LAKESHORELADY. So sweet!
