Sunday Spotlights 7
Good morning, friends! For some reason, this weekend has felt the most like typical Summertime Chi so far, and I am HERE FOR IT. It started with bringing the TV out to our patio to watch the Cubs opener on Friday. SO FUN! Then Saturday, we met friends for a walk along the lake with our pups. And today, we’re going out the burbs to hang out at Adam’s parents house! It’s supposed to be over 90 degrees and they have a pool 😉 Yes, please!
Even though being social doesn’t look the same as it did last year, seeing friends again has been so good for us mentally and emotionally. I’m trying to enjoy it in the moment and be grateful that we can get quality time with some of our favorite people outdoors. It’s definitely going to be hard when it gets colder and we don’t have that option anymore, since it sounds like interacting with anyone outside of your household indoors will still be very risky this fall/winter. But instead of focusing on that, let’s enjoy the patio hangs while we can, shall we?!
Sunday Spotlights 7
Now for some Sunday Spotlights…
Have you listened to Taylor Swift’s surprise album yet? So far, I think it’s beautiful. But I’m also not sure I’m going to get really into it until the fall. It makes me want to snuggle up with a chunky knit and a cup of tea or glass of red wine. Preferably on a gloomy and/or crisp day. What do you guys think of it?!
My friend Natalie taught THE BEST outdoor yoga class on Thursday. She teaches for Eb & Flow in Wicker Park if any of you Chicago gals are interested!
I tried my first self tanner – and it went well! I was too intimidated to try a mousse, so I started with Isle of Paradise Tanning Drops that you mix with lotion. It was really easy and now I want even more color… has anyone tried their Tanning Water?
How good does this salad look? OMG.
My friend Ali has started sharing photography tips on her Instagram feed, and trust me… you want to follow along. She covers DSLR cameras, iPhones, the best editing apps, how to find the best lighting, and more. She’s the best!
Just in case you don’t know who Ghislaine Maxwell is, this podcast does a really good job of breaking down the Jeffrey Epstein case. There’s also a Netflix documentary, but that was harder for me to handle because I wanted to punch the TV every time I saw his smug face. Haha anyone else?
My favorite concealer is 20% off this weekend!
In case you missed it on my insta-stories this week, I got this $30 cold brew maker during the 4th of July sales and it has made my mornings so much better!!! That + my milk frother makes morning WAY better.
Sarah Cooper’s videos crack. me. up.
We’re out of THE BEST brown rice pasta (seriously, no other brand compares), so I placed a new Thrive Market order yesterday since they’re much cheaper there than at local grocery stores. I’m thinking about putting a blog post together of my favorite things to order from Thrive… but in the meantime, you can get 25% off by clicking here!
The Keds x Oh Joy! Collection is so freaking cute.
This explanation of billionaires is really interesting.
Cafe Vai is a local organization dedicated to crafting healthy organic meals for those in need throughout Chicago. Their goal is to deliver 2,500 meals to COVID front line workers, homeless shelters, and youth centers within the next 90 days. How cool is that?! You can see some of their beautiful meals on Instagram, and you can donate to the cause on their website!
BRB buying this swimsuit for my niece! Have you ever seen a cuter print?

Great spotlights this week! And best description of the new Taylor Swift I’ve read yet. That’s exactly how I feel too.
