If you’re short like me, here are the best petite friendly items from Everlane!
I know there are a bunch of other bloggers that love Everlane like I do, but I also know that it can be hard to trust what is going to look good on YOU if most of the gals you follow are tall and you’re not 😉 Trust me, I feel you! As a 5’2″ gal with curves, I am definitely not going to look the same in a piece of clothing as a 5’8″ woman who is all legs!
Luckily, even though Everlane doesn’t have petite sizes, I’ve been able to find so many pieces with great proportions for me. Plus, the fact that they make their pants in “short” and “ankle” lengths is huge. So without further ado, here are all of my favorite petite friendly items from Everlane – complete with some thoughts on the quality, sizing, and fit!
The Best Petite Friendly Items from Everlane
The Best Tops for Petites
This cropped cardi totally gives me 90’s vibes and I am INTO IT. I think I’ll wear it buttoned up as a top the most, but it would also be super cute unbuttoned over a sundress this spring and summer! I have a size small and it fits perfectly. I’m also wearing Everlane’s new slip on sneakers, too! They run true to size and are super comfy.
How many fitness camis have you tried on only to have the extra fabric bunch awkwardly around your hips? A LOT, right?! But not this one! This cami is perfectly cropped to sit right at or above your waist – and it has a built in bra, too!!! I don’t think I’d wear this for anything too high intensity, but it’s definitely going to be a favorite for yoga, pilates, barre, or even walks around the neighborhood. I also really love the perform bike shorts, too! I have a size small in both.
I loooove the weight and fit of this cardigan. So many winter cardigans are super long, but this one hits right at my hips and drapes perfectly. I have a size small!
This linen top is perfectly summery and the length sits just below high waisted jeans. You could do a little half tuck if you want to… but it’s not one of those button down shirts that feel long untucked. Runs true to size!
If you are petite, this tee is the PERFECT length. Not too short, not too long – and the fabric is super lightweight. I have it in 2 colors in XS.
Not only is this cashmere tee incredibly soft, but it also has excellent proportions for petite gals. The length hits at the top of my hip bones, so it can easily be half tucked at the waist without a ton of extra fabric, or just leave it as is since it isn’t crazy long! I’m wearing a size XS. (See more in this post!)
Love the color, the length of the sleeves, the ribbed fabric – this is such a great basic tee that definitely doesn’t overwhelm a petite frame. Wearing an XS!
You’ve definitely heard me rave about this sweater a million times, but I can’t help it! This sweater is definitely a little oversized, so not quite as petite friendly as some other styles. That being said, as long as you do not size up, I think it totally works. You can see more photos of how I’ve styled it in this post and this capsule wardrobe post (in another color)!
I find chunky cardigans to be EXTREMELY hard to find for petites. Luckily, this one is on the shorter size, so you don’t have to worry about it looking like a bathrobe on you 😂 It’s definitely still oversized and the sleeves are a little long, but that just makes it cozy in my opinion! Wearing an XS.
THE PRETTIEST WORK BLOUSE EVER. I always feel like I’m playing dress up in button up blouses that are really long or have really wide shoulders. Luckily, this one has amazing proportions for petite gals! I’m wearing an XS.
I know we’re all not super concerned with how flattering our sweatshirts are while we’re quarantined at home… but I love the fit of this one! If these past few weeks have made you realize that every sweatshirt you own is oversized, this a great one to add to the mix! Wearing an XS. See more in this post!
I’m sorry I only have a wrinkled picture of this one 🙈 But I’m still sharing it because this sweater is an awesome basic! It’s the perfect weight as we transition from winter to spring, but it would also be great for those slightly chilly summer nights when (hopefully) we can all be outside! Don’t size up if you’re petite – I’m wearing an XS.
The one I’m wearing above is sold out, but this one is SO similar that I had to mention it! You can choose from a thong or bikini style and the fit is awesome. But the best part is that it’s only $26 right now! (I also own this turtleneck bodysuit but I don’t have a photo of me in it – sorry!)
The Best Pants and Shorts for Petites
These are my favorite jean shorts ever. Seriously. I have always had a tough time finding jean shorts that fit me right. High rise, but no gap. Long enough inseam, but not too long that it looks frumpy. If you have a butt and thighs, you know how it goes! A lot of shorts are made for those of us with tall skinny legs… which is not me! 😂 I wear a size 26 in their jeans, but I take a size 27 in the shorts.
My favorite jeans now come in white? Yes please! I love that this white version is still soft and stretchy, but not see through at all. No summer embarrassments here! They also come in ankle length so us shorties don’t have to get them hemmed at the tailor.
If I had to choose one style for petites, it would be the Authentic Stretch High Rise Skinny Jeans in Ankle length. I have multiple pairs and they are the jeans I reach for the most often. High quality denim, great length (as long as you order them in ankle, not regular!), and I love the rise on them. They tend to run a little small, so if you are in between sizes, you might want to size up instead of down. I wear my usual size 26 and they’re a little snug – but that’s how I like my skinny jeans!
Also, I didn’t include this shirt in the best tops category only because it’s a little long for petites… but it’s so cute tucked in or tied at the waist! You can see more of this whole outfit in this post.
These jeans are the same as the pair above… just with a button fly! I never used to own button fly jeans, but these made me a believer (I also have them in black!). Super comfortable and super flattering. What more could you want?! You can see how I styled them different ways in this post.
I feel like I’ve been telling EVERYONE about their leggings ever since they launched them 😂 I just think they’re so good – and you can get them for just $43 right now. I don’t think I’ve ever bought leggings that are this high quality for that cheap! See more of this color and my black pair in this post!
If you like the idea of boyfriend jeans, but you don’t want them to overwhelm you – these jeans are a GREAT alternative. They are a LOT more structured and stiff around the hips and waist than the other pairs I have, so if you don’t like to feel restricted, you might want to go up a size. See more in this post!
Even though these are also called cheeky straight jeans, they are very different from the 90s version above! First of all, they’re not nearly as stiff and I don’t think they run as small as the 90’s. Second, they’re way more of a Mom jean than a boyfriend jean. I know lots of taller skinnier gals that make these look super cool… but since I’m curvy and short, they definitely give more Mom vibes on me 😂 I personally still love them though – the rise is a little higher than the skinny jeans, and they’re just so freaking comfortable. They’re the perfect quarantine jeans when you need to get out of your sweats but you’re not quite ready to commit to skinnies!
I know most of you aren’t going to an office right now, but when you go back – these are the best work pants. I love that, even though they are a cropped style, they still made them in short for petite gals like us! WOOO! You can see more of these in this capsule post.
The Best Skirts, Jumpsuits and Dresses For Petites
I have never really had good luck with Everlane dresses – they are usually to big, boxy, and/or long on me. But this dress fits like a GLOVE. (I’m wearing an XS.) I also love that it’s machine washable!
This jumpsuit was one of my FAVORITE pieces last summer, and even though it’s pretty much sold out in red, there is a full size run in black!! I have a size 0 and I didn’t need to shorten it! See more in this post.
I usually have a really hard time with straight denim skirts – they don’t fit over my booty or they gap at the waist or they’re way too long… it’s a struggle. But Everlane skirts are somehow PERFECT on me. I’ve owned my white skirt for a while (see more here), I just got this new reconstructed denim skirt (pictured below), and I also looooved their corduroy skirt from this past fall/winter. I get my usual jean size!
Shoes and Accessories
Even though shoes, bags, and accessories aren’t specific to petite gals, I wanted to share a few favorite just in case you’re in the market!
Okay hi, hello, please meet the most comfortable sandal OF ALL TIME. They are made out of the same reknit material as my favorite booties – which is made from recycled plastic bottles. So cool. You guys know that I don’t wear super high heels very often, so these are the perfect height for me. They give me a little boost but I can still walk all over the city in them. Swoooooon!
Every summer, I wish I had Birkenstocks because I love the idea of comfortable, easy, effortless slides for everyday. Yet, every summer, I realize that I can’t pull them off 😂 Luckily, these form sandals fill that void, but feel way more like me! Since they don’t have half sizes, I sized up from a 6.5 to a 7 and they fit great!
Since I don’t go to an office normally, I really have no need for a super structured tote. That being said, I still need a bag with lots of space for when I go to meetings around the city or travel! I got this last fall and it’s been my favorite bag ever since. Such a big fan!
If you only ever buy one more pair of booties in your life, it should be these. They are the MOST comfortable boots I’ve even worn – they feel like sweaters on your feet! I think they run true to size, and you can see more photos of them in this post and this post!
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect sneaker forever. You know, the kind that are comfortable enough for long walks but still look cool? This pair checks all the boxes and didn’t need to be broken in at ALL. Plus, they’re under $100 and they are made with less waste, less energy, and less virgin plastic than other leather sneakers like them. Obsessed. (You can shop the rest of the outfit here.)
Not only do I love the style of these rain booties, but the price can not be beat. Where else can you get high quality waterproof boots for just $75? And they’re only $56 this week? Oh yeahhhh! You can see more in this post.
Okay I know you’ve already seen this photo, but this is the only shot I have of these shoes. And they are GORGEOUS! If you’ve been wanting to try the snakeskin trend, I like these even better than their snakeskin booties. I just love that they’re so feminine – plus the heel is low and walkable, which is always a win in my book. Runs true to size!
Oh man, just thinking about these sandals makes me excited for summer! While the bottoms are super flat, the leather straps feel like BUTTER, so you don’t have to worry about them cutting into your skin/giving you blisters. They’re the best.
Looking for flats that elongate your legs?! Look not further! These flats have a perfectly pointy toe and it comes in pretty natural pink. I sized up from a 6.5 to 7!
And one last suggestion! I don’t have a photo of me in these boots, but they are made from the softest leather. It has a small walkable heel, and the brick color is great for pretty much any season. Big fan!
