The Red Gal Meets Glam Dress of your Holiday Dreams
Gal Meets Glam Dress (I’m wearing a size 0 Petite and it fits great, besides being a little tight in the shoulders/arms) | Similar Patent Leather Clutch (mine is old!) | Vrai & Oro Necklace (my favorite – I wear it nearly every day) | Calvin Klein Pumps (runs TTS) | Col-Lab Lip Stain
Happy Friday, friends! Originally, my Beautycounter post was scheduled to be the only post today… but as soon as I unwrapped this Gal Meets Glam dress (in petite!), I knew I wanted to put something together in time for the November launch. I mean… is this not the most festive red dress you’ve EVER SEEN?!
If you follow me over on Instagram, you know that I look forward to the new GMG collections every month (evidence here and here!). Julia has been one of my favorite bloggers for years. Watching her expand into a designer has been so exciting and inspiring to watch. Plus, her designs are gorgeous, playful, and perfectly ladylike.
I’m sure you can imagine my reaction when I got an email asking if I’d like to receive a dress from this November collection. Let me think… yes, please!!!
To be honest, most of her dresses aren’t really made for me. For a while I thought I was just going to have to swoon over each collection from afar. Midi length dresses look great on taller gals, but they tend to make me look even shorter than I am. Wah wahhh.
Luckily, the collections started to include shorter hemlines, separates, jumpsuits… and petite sizing!! HALLELUJAH! You guys know, any time a brand offers petite sizing, they immediately become a favorite of mine. Anyone else agree with me on that?!
Since I always want to try the dresses that come in petite sizing, this dress jumped up to the top of my wishlist. Not only is it super festive and perfect for the holidays – but it feels retro in an Old Hollywood way. When I put it on, I felt like I should step into a movie musical with Gene Kelly. Or onto the set of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! Midge would totally rock this dress, don’t you think?
Along with this dress, I also own this jumpsuit (seen on me HERE) and this adorable tweed jacket (seen on me HERE). I can’t say enough good things about both pieces. Such great versatile and timeless pieces!
Are you getting excited for the holidays yet?
Also, what do you like to wear for holiday parties? Do you like to dress up like this, or do you prefer to be more casual? Let me know in the comments!
