This Week’s Mantra: Good Things Take Time
Happy Monday! If you saw my Instagram yesterday, you know that I allowed myself a full day of REST. After such a crazy week last week, I needed to chill out, and it was so nice to have a snuggly day with Adam. But now that I’m rested, I’m ready to hit the ground running today!
Good Things Take Time
I thought I’d start with something that I’ve needed to personally remind myself recently, just in case you need to hear it, too. Good Things Take Time. When I have an idea, I like to tackle it as soon as possible. Back when I was also working in marketing, I would pride myself on my ability to execute all of my work tasks and put together content for the blog. Look at me go!!
But now that this is my full time job, my goals have grown bigger than just getting blog posts and Instagrams up. I’m thinking about how I can create more helpful downloads, videos, and maybe even products for you guys. And (surprise!), those projects take more planning, trial and error, and time. It is not all going to be done next week. And that’s okay! Good things take time.
This mantra also applies beyond work, as well. I’ve been feeling really great about my fitness routine recently, but I still have moments of frustration with my body. Why is that class still so hard for me? Why is that part of my arm still flabby? Where are my abs?! It can be so frustrating to work so hard and not see the results you want. But again… say it with me…
Good things take time.
Whenever I get frustrated, I remember my entire health journey. It has never been about a quick fix ever. It has been a learning experience and continual process since I decided I wanted to get fit and healthy at 20 years old. For the most part, working out was always been about my general well being, but recently I’ve really wanted to gain strength and muscle. I started incorporating heavier weights in October… but that’s still less than 6 months of work. Muscle gains take consistency and time!
So, if you’ve been frustrated that everything you are striving for isn’t happening as easily or as quickly as you wanted… take a breath. Keep working. Keep pushing. Remember that good things take time. You’ll get there.
