The Best Travel Jackets for Him and Her
I’ve been holding on to these photos since Finland, trying to figure out if they’d make an interesting post for all of you. And then last weekend, Adam and I both grabbed these coats as we headed out the door and couldn’t stop talking about how much we love them. And then yesterday we were chatting about what we should pack for D.C. this weekend, and we realized we were both going to bring our Barbour jackets. So yeah… I guess you could say they’re worth sharing with you guys?! ?
Obviously we’re all going to need to bust out our puffy coats pretty soon – but even Chicago has a decent amount of time left in the “in-between” weather. But beyond that, if you’re traveling somewhere a little warmer anytime over the next few months, these coats are great to wear to and from the airport, on chilly nights, if you get caught in a rainstorm – you name it! Plus, they roll up and can be stuffed right in a backpack! That’s how we carried them around when it warmed up during the day in Finland. And when it cooled off, we unrolled them and they looked good as new.
Now, I know Barbour coats are pretty pricey – I won’t deny that. But I have been blown away by the quality, design, and fit of these coats. As a petite gal, buying outerwear can be tough sometimes. The Durham style hits me at the perfect length, and even though the sleeves are a little long, I love that the print shows when I cuff them!
Plus, when it comes to coats, I like to have long term relationships ? It’s true! I’ve had the same wool coat for nearly 9 years and the same puffer for 5 years. Blogging has changed things a little because I like to show you guys how things fit. But before that was a factor, I’d only buy outerwear that I knew I was going to have for a really long time. And I know we’ll have these coats for years to come.

Also, in case you’re wondering if Adam is on the same page with me about investing in quality coats – he’s had his trusty pea coat for over 10 years! I have no doubt in my mind that he’ll still have this one in 10 years too, because it fits him PERFECTLY. Seriously, I couldn’t believe it when he put it on! He’s so tall (the opposite problem from me ?), but it’s the perfect length on him.
He also loves that he can wear it almost all year round in all different kinds of weather. The versatile and sleek design works on both sunny days and rainy days. And if it’s cold outside, he can layer a sweater and Patagonia under it for extra warmth.
