A Valentine’s Day Playlist + You Are Significant With Or Without A Significant Other
Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! To celebrate this day of looooove, I thought it would be fun to put together a Valentine’s Day Playlist for you! There’s over 3 hours of music on this baby, and it’s perfect for jamming along at work or singing/dancing in your apartment later. I maybe did exactly that on Tuesday night as I made chicken noodle soup ? Adam caught me mid-dance, mid-belt… haha good thing he loves a good dance party in the kitchen as much as I do!
There’s a mix of oldies and newbies on here, both classic ballads and fun upbeat jams. Hopefully this means your significant other will like it as much as you do if you’re planning to stay in tonight.

One more thing…
Before I let you go, I wanted to share one of my favorite passages by one of my favorite authors that I think of every year on this day. It provided me a lot of comfort during my single years. To be honest, it still means a lot to me now that I’m engaged. It’s such a great reminder that, as wonderful as it is to be in love and find your person, there is more to all of us than just our relationship status. Here is the full passage from Savor by Shauna Niequist.
“Our culture is weirdly obsessed with romance and couples and being a part of a matched set. Some of the people I love the most are single – either because they haven’t yet found their person, or because their marriage has ended. I’ve reached the age when I hear more divorce announcements than wedding bells. Sometimes I wonder if there would be fewer divorce announcements if we weren’t so hung up on marriage as a status symbol or accomplishment.
I love being married to Aaron. He’s my person, and every day I’m thankful for the life we’re making together. But being married doesn’t mean my life is any more significant than the lives of my single friends. It breaks my heart when they feel like they’re less or half or waiting around for their real lives to start. That’s garbage.
Some of the worst people I know are married, and some of the best people I know are single. I don’t know how it happens. But it’s not about the fundamental value of the person in question. Your value is not riding on a cultural obsession with romance and tulle and diamonds.
You are significant with or without a significant other.”
Happy Valentine’s Day, loves!
