It can be hard to find wedding guest shoes that don’t hurt all night, break the budget, or sink in the grass. Luckily, this roundup has a ton of great options for wedding season!
After a year full of cancelled or modified weddings, it is looking more and more likely that the celebrations on our calendar this year will actually happen… and that means you might need some new dresses and SHOES!
I really like this particular topic because it’s all about making a good investment. Trends are fun, but you need reliable shoes you feel good in to get you through wedding season! And no, I don’t mean that you need to invest hundreds and hundreds of dollars into the best shoes on the planet. (There are a ton in this post that are under $100!) But I do think it’s important to look at what types of weddings you’re going to and what types of dresses you’re wearing, so that you can purchase the shoes that will actually get you through all those ceremonies and dance floors. If you like to have fun with brightly colored dresses, definitely opt for neutral and versatile. But if you’re more of an LBD gal, maybe you can have a little bit more fun with this! (How dreamy are these floral sandals? MY HEART!)

Best Wedding Guest Shoes:
Casual Wedding Guest Shoes (aka heels that won’t sink in grass)
One of the questions I used to get asked a lot surrounding wedding season is “Can you help me find heels that don’t sink in the grass?” And I always tell people to just go straight for a chunky heel. I am so done with those little plastic stoppers that you attach to stilettos. BUH BYE! Obviously, if you’re a bridesmaid and you need to wear specific heels, that’s a different story. But if you’re just a guest at an outdoor wedding… girl, buy yourself some comfortable heels!
I honestly think I wore my Rebecca Minkoff sandals to almost all of the weddings we went to in 2018 and 2019. I mean, they were comfortable, neutral, and cute – why mess with that? Plus, most of the weddings we went to were outside, so the thick block heel made it easy to walk on grass without any sinking issues at ALL. Even though those aren’t available anymore, there are still a TON of awesome options at a bunch of different price points! Here are some of my favorites, including my new favorite 2″ sandals – perfect for a casual backyard wedding!
Fancier Wedding Guest Shoes
Of course, not everyone has a casual outdoor wedding – so we need shoes for the fancy affairs, too! I still usually try to look for a heel with some substance to it, just because I think they’re much more comfortable. Even the shoes I bought for our wedding have a thick heel! (I got mine forever ago and they are more of a platinum rose color – but same style!) That being said, I threw in a few stiletto styles too. Mostly because I hear that Sarah Flint has the most comfortable pumps ever. Have any of you tried them?
