2024 Book Releases That I Can’t Wait To Read
Hello fellow book lovers! I was trying to pick out my next book after finishing the Magnolia Park series, and I realized that there are a lot of 2024 book releases that I’m waiting for. Truly, so many of my favorite authors have new books coming out between now and June, and I’m just biding my time until I get my hands on them!
Before we go any farther, I should clarify that I love a good romance… so if you came to this page in hopes of finding non fiction or historical fiction or scary thrillers, you might be disappointed. But if you came here looking for your next beach read, then you’re in the right spot!! I think there’s only one thriller in here, otherwise this list is full of feel good page turners.

2024 Book Releases That I Can’t Wait To Read
Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle (March 19, 2024)
I loved In Five Years and One Italian Summer by this author, but if you’ve never read one of her books, it’s important to know that she always adds a little bit of magical realism. In Expiration Dates, Daphne receives a slip of paper every time she meets a new man with his name and a number on it – the exact amount of time they will be together. That is, until she meets Jake.

Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez (April 9, 2024)
Yours Truly was one of my favorite books of 2023, so I am pumped for Abby’s new one! Just For The Summer is about Justin, a man with a curse – every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate after they break up. That is, until he meets Emma, a woman with the same problem. If they date and break up, will their curses cancel each other out? This sounds very predictable but Abby’s books are always so good that I’m excited to see what else she layers in there.

How To End A Love Story by Yulin Kuang (April 9, 2024)
I just recently learned about Yulin Kuang because she is adapting Emily Henry’s Beach Read and People We Meet On Vacation into screenplays!! So based on that, I have a feeling I’ll enjoy her writing. How To End A Love Story is about Helen, a bestselling author who moves to LA and runs into Grant, 13 years after the accident that connects them. It seems like this one is about platonic love and I’m intrigued.

Funny Story by Emily Henry (April 23, 2024)
Speaking of Emily Henry, you KNOW I don’t miss any of her books! I didn’t love Happy Place as much as her other books, but I have really high hopes for this one. Funny Story is about Daphne, a woman who was recently engaged… until she found out her fiance was actually in love with his childhood best friend, Petra. Stranded in Michigan with no friends or family, she finds herself moving in with with none other than Petra’s ex. I AM SO IN.

This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune (May 7, 2024)
Carley has a knack for lakeside summer romances, and it sounds like this one is a similar vibe! This Summer Will Be Different is about Lucy who meets a handsome local while vacationing at a beach house on Prince Edward Island, only to find out that he’s her best friend’s younger brother.

The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren (May 14, 2024)
If you’ve never read a Christina Lauren book, they are a best friend writing duo with tons of beach reads. Love & Other Words and The Unhoneymooners are my personal favorites, but they’re all really fun. The Paradise Problem is about a marriage of convenience between a struggling student turned professor and the heir to a 100 million dollar inheritance. The only catch is that for him to get that money, he needs to be happily married for 5 years. This feels like a weird premise to me, but I’m sure I’ll still read it.

Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan (June 4, 2024)
I loved Nora Goes Off Script, so I’m excited for another Annabel book this summer! Summer Romance is about a professional organizer whose own life is a mess. Her mom passed away, her husband left, and she’s just trying to get by as a single mom. Until a new man walks into her life… sounds cute!

Such A Bad Influence by Olivia Muenter (June 4, 2024)
This is the only non-romance on this list, but I am SO EXCITED for it! The author, Olivia Muenter, is also a co-host of the Bad On Paper podcast, so I’ve been anticipating this book for a while. It’s about an influencer family – one sister, Evie, went viral at age 5 and has stayed in the limelight but the other, Hazel, wants nothing to do with it. When Evie turns 18, she disappears… and Hazel does everything she can to find her.

The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center (June 11, 2024)
This book is about Emma, an aspiring screenwriter who LOVES romantic comedies. (Me too, girl!) After being the sole caretaker for her Dad, she gets the opportunity to go to L.A. for 6 weeks to re-write a script for a famous screenwriter that she’s always looked up to. But what do they always say? Don’t meet your heroes.

One Last Summer by Kate Spencer (June 11, 2024)
This book is about Clara, who is overworked, single and in desperate need of some time off. She decides to join her friend on their annual summer vacation to their beloved childhood sleepover camp. When they arrive, they found out the owners are retiring and selling the property… which leads to a heart to heart with her old camp nemesis. I really liked In A New York Minute by this author, so I bet this will be cute!

One Star Romance by Laura Hankin (June 18, 2024)
Laura Hankin is an author I can’t quite figure out. I flew through Happy & You Know It, but then I thought A Special Place For Women was bizarre, and The Daydreamers left me wanting more. But one thing is for sure, they’re all super creative – and this new one sounds right up my alley.
One Star Romance is about Nat and Rob whose best friends just got engaged. Despite not having a ton in common, Natalie is excited to be in the wedding party with Rob, until she realizes that he wrote a one-star review of her new novel.

A Novel Love Story by Ashley Poston (June 24, 2024)
I just finished The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston and I loved it SO MUCH that I immediately pre-ordered this new one. A Novel Love Story is about a romance reader named Eileen. She prefers to get lost in happily-ever-afters to being vulnerable in real life, but on her way to a book club retreat, her car breaks down in a town that feels like it’s right out of a novel… because it is. If you’re not into magical realism, you might not like her style – but I’m all in.

The Summer Pact by Emily Giffin (July 9, 2024)
I’ve been a fan of Emily Giffin for YEARS. We’re talking back to 2010 with Something Borrowed! Her books are always total page turners, and I cannot wait for this one. The Summer Pact is not a romance – instead, it’s about four friends who meet at the beginning of college. By the time graduation approaches, their lives are changed by a “desperate act”. After that, they make a pact, promising to always be there for each other no matter the circumstances or distance between them.
