Before we dive in to links, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all of the Mamas out there!! Especially the ladies pictured above, my Mom and sister, aka two of the best Moms I know. I am constantly in awe of everything you do and am so grateful for all of the love you give. I hope all of the Mamas out there all have the best day and feel so special and so so loved. You are amazing.
That being said, as a currently childless woman, this Mother’s Day feels different with our reproductive rights hanging in the balance. I understand that not everyone agrees with me or feels the same way right now – but I personally feel very sad and scared and angry for everyone that these laws will harm, including women who are already Mothers.
And honestly, I feel both scared and guilty about trying to become a mother in the future. It’s impossible not to worry about what all of this could mean for me… but I also feel guilt because I have resources and I live in a state that supports reproductive rights. Because of that, I know that I will likely be able to get all of the care that I need if I ever have an ectopic pregnancy, a miscarriage, or any other serious complications. But if Roe is overturned, that won’t be the case for so many women across the country.
Again, I recognize that some of you probably won’t agree with me on this topic. But before you write me off, I encourage you to read some of the links that I share about this topic in today’s post. All of this is incredibly complex, the bills are getting increasingly scarier, and real people will die and real families will be torn apart if we continue down this path. Please consider those lives, too. Thank you for listening ❤️

This thread made me cry my eyes out. Please read every single slide.
Also, I shared this post in my story this week but it’s worth sharing again.
And along the same lines of the two threads above, this article is a really important read too.
Let’s all wish Jamie from Dishing Out Health a happy first Mother’s Day! Congratulations, Jamie!!!!

This miso black cod power bowl looks SO GOOD.
I tried on these linen pants in regular small store and thought they were too big… but the petite small was a weird length on me. Moral of the story – if you’re 5’2″ like me and don’t mind a cropped pant fitting like a full length pant on you, just go with the regular size!
I really appreciated the thoughtful responses @so.informed provided in this thread.
Sezane’s new summer collection dropped today and it is all SO pretty!
There are a lot of scary bills popping up around the country, but Louisiana is trying to pass one that will charge women who have abortions with murder. The bill would redefine personhood to begin at the moment of fertilization without any legislation to protect women from prosecution for a lost pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy. The broad scope of the bill could also criminalize IVF, IUDs, and emergency contraception.
How many women do you know have used IVF, have miscarried or terminated an ectopic pregnancy, have (or have had) an IUD, and/or have taken the Plan B pill? Spoiler: it’s a LOT.
Did all of you follow Callie from Peloton when she was in Italy these past few weeks? Her content was such a treat – as is she!
