Hey friends! I’ve been getting a ton of questions about my makeup recently, which has been both super flattering and very surprising for me. I’ve never considered myself a makeup expert, but I have tried out a LOT of products over the years – and while I’m still always trying new things, these 10 are my absolute favorites.
I’ll admit that these aren’t the ONLY products I use, but this list is everything I can’t live without. If you read this back when it was first published, you may remember that I didn’t list a foundation because there wasn’t one I loved. I’m happy to report that has changed! There is obviously still more I could cover (hair brushes, eyeshadows, lipsticks), but I wanted to narrow down the list to the things I actively purchase again AS SOON as they run out. Come on, you know that panicked feeling!
The 10 Best Beauty Products I Own
Bioclarity Cleanse Face Wash – $9.95
Earlier this year, I tried out Bioclarity’s Essential Routine for a collaboration… and I completely fell in love. While all 3 products in that set are great, the “Cleanse” face wash is my favorite. It’s gentle, it gets makeup off really well, and I don’t think I’ve ever found a face wash that makes my skin feel as good as this one does. Just placed an order for 2 more!
PS. If you want to try the whole routine instead of just the face wash, I think my discount code still works! (LAKESHORE for 50% off your first order)
Hands down the best face lotion I’ve ever used. I always thought face lotion contributed to breakouts in the past – they felt too thick on my face and I’d opt for a serum instead. This one feels super light and even the tiniest bit makes my skin feel moisturized. Even Adam steals this from me – it’s so good!
If you read this post when it first went live, you know that I didn’t include a foundation because I didn’t really like any. And then I tried this Tint Skin Foundation and Dew Skin Foundation, and I finally found what I was looking for!
I dealt with a lot of breakouts a few years ago, I think due to a combination of lots of stress, being in a hot room during yoga teacher training all the time, and the pill I was on. Thanks to a few facials, less hot yoga, lower stress, and a new pill, my skin is really clear now most of the time. That means I don’t need a ton of coverage. I just want something to subtly even my skin tone and moisturize my skin – and I hate the feeling of having foundation caked on.
So when I tried Beautycounter’s foundations, I fell in love immediately. I use the Tint Skin in the color “Honey” the most, because it provides a little bit more coverage. That being said, I like having the Dew Skin (#3) on hand for days that I just want light coverage, or on vacation/during summer months when it’s hot out!
This stuff is straight up GOLD. I’ve always struggled with dark under eye circles, and it only got worse when I became a bit of a workaholic the past few years. I had tried SO many different concealers, I was starting to believe that my bags were just a lost cause. And then this concealer came along! It’s brightening, it goes on smooth without creasing, it stays on all day… it’s just the best. Period.
A lot of the products on this list may seem obvious, but this one totally came out of nowhere for me. I received it in a press package and honestly thought I’d never use it. I mean, who is actually going to put an eye primer on every day? Well, turns out this cream to powder formula works great as an eyeshadow on it’s own and brightens up my whole face. This shadow + my concealer + eyeliner = my go to eye makeup routine!
You know when your eyeliner looks great at the beginning of the day, but then you look in the mirror later and there are black smudges under your eyes? That is the story of my life with pretty much every eyeliner on the market – except this one. I’m not going to pretend I know the science behind it… all I know is that it stays put, and that makes it my favorite eyeliner ever.
Burt’s Bees Natural Brow Pencil – $9.99
Sometimes I feel like I’m on the only woman in the world who doesn’t wax, microblade, or whatever else to her eyebrows. I just go at up with a good old fashioned tweezer… and then fill them in with this brow pencil! I like this pencil better than any of the others I’ve tried because it’s very easy to apply, while still looking natural. It’s a simple formula, the brush makes it easy to blend, and it feels completely normal. I’ll never forget a filler I tried once that made my eyebrows feel stuck on my face… I can’t handle stuff like that!
Blush is one of my favorite makeup products, because I can feel terrible – and a swipe of blush makes me look alive and rosy again! I’ve really grown to love this way of applying blush, because you can build the color to be as subtle or pigmented as you want, and it stays on for SO. LONG.
Ecotools Perfecting Blender Duo – $6.99
I know everyone loves the Beauty Blender, but that is $20 for one, and both of these only cost $9.99 (on sale for $6.99 right now!). After using both, I really think the Ecotools sponges work just as well. And who doesn’t like saving a little money?
You know when you want some color on your lips, but you don’t want to wear lipstick? This lip balm solves that problem… and then some! The formula reacts to the chemistry of your lips to enhance their natural color. In other words, your lips get their own custom color, while also getting tons of moisture. I also really love a similar $14 balm from Winky Lux – you can read more about that in this post!
What are your favorite beauty products?
I’m also trying Thrive Causemetics mascara right now, so I’ll definitely keep you updated on how I like that! And if you prefer a powder blush, I still stand by Bareminerals GenNude Blush, and I’ve also been testing out Col-lab blush which I like a lot (and it’s only $11.99!). Regardless of which one I’m using, I always have my trusty Bareminerals Blooming Blush Brush. Seriously, the only makeup brush I’ve ever cared about 😂
Also, in case you’re interested in any of the Beautycounter products I talked about, you can get a FREE Cleansing Balm when you place an order for $175 or more this weekend! They also have a Flawless in Five deal going on right now, which bundles their foundation, concealer pen, brow gel, mascara, blush, and lip gloss for just $150 (vs. $187 value). Let me know if you have any questions! As you can see from this post, I’ll always tell you my honest opinion and what I actually use – whether it’s by BC or not!
